Winter Sleep- Dreams

I stumbled across this album really late last night and I'm kind of in two minds about it. "Dreams" written by James Webster under the name "Winter Sleep", not to be confused with the Canadian indie band with the same name, is almost surreal in places. I'd even go as far to say that the third track 'Small Dreams' is bordering on being disturbing, but I can put that down to the strange backing track of laughter that runs through the song. Other tracks, such as 'Forest Fountains', are wonderfully upbeat, and the whole album flits between unsettling moods and positively dreamlike feelings, much like dreams themselves.

It was an odd album to stumble across late at night, but it does make great music to have on when you're trying to write or draw. Finding it on the site where I get most of my chiptunes, Pause, made it an odd find. And it's not exactly what I'd call easy listening, but I am enjoying having it on in the background when I work. It's the only work by Winter Sleep that I can find but I think it's something I'll keep going back to listen to. Have a listen for yourself here, and please let me know what you think. It's a weird album so your opinions on it are more than welcome. I have a tendancy to like strange music, so if this is just me being weird then I'm fine with that. Feel free to leave a comment below or to get in touch through my twitter, and as always, thanks for reading.
